Why these pages? |

Yes, I also wondered for a long time whether or not it made sense to make
another homepage on the Internet with well-known facts and already available
pictures, especially since the Internet already has such a low transmission
rate.
Meanwhile, the reasons built up until they outweighed the arguments in my eyes. What are my reasons? Well: a webpage about the Neverending Story in German, the educational and pleasurable benifits, my own pages, and so on. What decided the matter, however, was a French website about The Mysterious Cities of Gold. The page was formed so wonderfully that I got pleasure to play a bit.
The experiences I had while forming my pages let me see other webpages with
more skilled eyes now. I admit that I have "stolen" many ideas from other
pages, but it doesn't bother me that much because I've made these pages by
hand. Therefor I managed without some tools that would have made the same
effects, e.g. frames, Java scripts, and maps, faster and easier. I have spent
the most time on image editing. A lot of testing stands there in the
foreground. So, I had reason to test the shareware program Paint Shop Pro 4.12
by JASC with its 30 days testing license. I must honestly say that it is one
of the top programs I know, containing all modern and useful functions and is
clear and small.
However, how did I become aware of the Neverending Story? It began many years
ago, when the movie first came into the cinemas. I liked it a lot. It was
thrilling and I could relate to all the characters. I was practically the same
age as the actors, and the music was brilliant. No doubt, I was very
enthusiastic about the movie. For my next birthday, I got the original book by
Michael Ende with its two colored font. This book surpassed all. It was just
as thrilling and unbelievably profound. The inherent logic makes it the best
story I know. It and the movie climbed high in my personal ranking. But it is
mostly the book that I'm thinking of when I see the life and say the movie's citations.
